
A man was stabbed to death inside a city centre bank branch this afternoon.
The man in his thirties, who was a customer, was assaulted inside Lloyds bank on St Peter’s Street in Derby at around 2.35pm today.
He was pronounced dead at the scene. While formal identification has not taken place, his family have been made aware.
This evening, police said they had launched a murder investigation.
They said ‘a significant police presence remains in the city centre and will do for some time to come’.
